Should I still be using heavy butters on my hair (which is type 4) now the weather is getting warmer?

As type 4 hair is prone to dryness, it is essential to keep your hair well moisturised even as the weather is getting warmer.Using butter helps to seal in the moisture. Try using Purely natural by Anastasia’s avocado butterit’s not so heavy and can be used throughout the year as it has been made using caring ingredients to keep hair soft, moisturised and lustrous.

Is there anything I can do to accelerate hair growth in time for my wedding?

Remember that hair can’t grow overnight, but there are a few things that you can do to help with length retention. One of these is to promote blood circulation to your scalp. Blood circulation feeds your hair follicles with the oxygen, nutrients, and minerals they need to grow. You can increase blood circulation with head massages. Try lavender essential oil, and using the pads of your fingers to gently massage the oil into your scalp. Stop blow drying your hair direct heat is damaging to the hair. Put your hair in a protective style this reduces ongoing manipulation of your hair, encouraging length retention and protects the ends of your hair. Also Consider trying a hairboosting supplement, this will help with vitamins and minerals that you may not be getting from your diet.

Oh and good luck with your wedding.

I'm thinking about getting faux locs. Is the maintenance different to box braids?

Faux locs can use up to double the amount of extensions as braids so may cause additional tension to the scalp. You do have to be very careful with your edges and I would not recommend this style if you hair is in any way damaged. Also try moisturising your hair with Purely natural by Anastasia’s mango hair butter, coat the hair before you install your faux locks. This will keep your hair well moisturised while in the extensions. With proper maintenance and upkeep, faux locs can last for up to three months. You may need to touch up the roots as your hair grows out. However apart from those precautions, faux locs  can be an amazing and gorgeous protective style that is no more damaging than box braids if you practice proper hair care.
